Enjoy Amazing Africa

Safari

South Africa has a variety of Private Game Reserves of which the best are found in Mpumalanga which most lie along the western border of the Kruger National Park. Amongst the well known of these private game reserves are Sabi Sands Private Game Reserve, Timbavati Private Game Reserve, Manyeleti Private Game Reserve and Timbavati Private Game Reserve, which are all home to the big five and many other species of the wildlife.

South Africa also has Private Game Reserves that are malaria free to name a few of the most well-known the Madikwe Game Reserve (North West Province) and Shamwari Game Reserve (Eastern Cape Province) and the area in and around Addo Elephant National Park.

Within these game reserves you find a selection of safari lodges, which vary from 3 to 5 star tourism grading. In general your stay at these lodges includes all your meals, coffee and teas as well as safari activities.

The morning game drives begin early in the morning. You will be given a wakeup call by the staff at least 30 minutes before departure and you will gather to enjoy a fresh cup of coffee and rusk before your drive. There will also be a break on the game drive for tea and coffee.

The afternoon / evening game drive departs at the end of the afternoon. On your evening game drive you will stop for a sundowner for drinks and marvel the surroundings and magic of the bush as the sunset. When you return to the lodge, you will freshen up and meet at the bar area for pre-dinner drinks.

Often game walks are also included in your experience. You will be accompanied by your Ranger and it also depends on the time of the year, as the walk is either done before breakfast (summer) or after (winter). For these walks natural coloured clothing is recommended, along with a hat and comfortable walking shoes. Sunscreen and insect repellent should also be used.

The golden rule that should always be remembered of treading into nature:- Leave nothing but your footprints, and take nothing but pictures and memories with you!!!
